Why are Katie and Tom turning their wedding into a circus?

There are a couple of things that TomKat have done that have us suspicious:

1) Why tell the world the date of your wedding?

2) Why invite every celeb who attracts paparazzi to your nuptials, many of whom you are barely friends with?

3) Why set the wedding in one of the most out-of-control, paparazzi-filled cities in the world?

4) In other words, why are Tom and Katie doing everything in their power to ensure that there is as much media attention on their wedding as humanly possible?

We think it's a tad bizarre.
