Jennifer Aniston recently phoned in People magazine to set the record straight about her alleged engagement to Vince Vaughn. She states that there was never any engagement and that the tabloids have run wild yet again. According to Aniston, what made her decide to step in and debunk the rumors was the fact that supposedly veritable news agencies like CNN and Today were also reporting the engagement. Aniston said that she was not surprised by the tabloid rumors as much as by the fact that real news agencies would actually pick up the fake story. The doctors are happy that Jen set the record straight. We're curious why she did so through a supposed tabloid. We also wonder, if Aniston and Vaughn really are engaged, wouldn't lying to the press like this be an excellent strategy to keep the razzi away on the big day....
