GUEST ROOM STENCILLING........

Okay, I've finished the stencilling and I love the results!  I ended up going with Pittsburgh Paints  - Quaking Grass for three of the walls and Atrium White for the bed wall.

And here's the finished walls!

That ugly light fixture will be a thing of the past, shortly!

And of course, I had my little devil helper, Milo, who couldn't stay away.....
He loves that the drapes are not hemmed yet....

Up next, the upholstered headboard, the light fixture installed and the finishing touches!

GUEST ROOM UPDATE........

Here's a little update on my guest room.  I've been a painting madwoman lately and got the entire room painted in one weekend, (along with hosting a dinner party and being a guest at another one - it was a busy weekend)!

To refresh your memory, here's what it looked like before I started.
And a couple of cans of paint later as well as some elbow grease.....

The "all white" wall will be the one that I'm doing the stencilling on.  I had to do FOUR COATS of white to cover up the previous dark blue wall...PHEW!!!

I hope to get to the stencilling shortly and I'll post some pictures once I'm done.  Then it's on to the upholstered headboard.

UPDATE ON GUEST ROOM.....

I've been spending alot of time thinking about my guest room and I've gotten quite a few things accomplished these past weeks.  And look what I saw today while checking out the blog world, this lovely image on Shelter.  This is the kind of feeling I'm going for, FRESH!

So I've ordered the stencil that I'm going to use for the bed wall from Royal Designs Studio

I also found the perfect fabric for the upholstered headboard that I'm going to do for the bed.  SHHH! Don't tell my hubby that he's being drafted into doing the wood cutting!!

It's from Robert Allen and was a steal at $13/yd down from $53/yd.  YEAH!!

I'm thinking about these paint colours but haven't decided as of yet.  I'll have to wait till I get the fabric in my hot little hands before I pick up the paint.

I also purchased some sheers from Ikea, to add to the white wood blinds that are already in place.

Now to cut all these lovely spring greens, I will be using a sky blue tone on tone striped duvet cover and shams.  I also plan to make some cute pillows for the bed.   Here's some of the fabric that I'm considering.

Which ones do you like?

GUEST ROOM......

Awhile ago my eldest son moved into his first apartment.  Now, that I'm over that trauma, I have been focusing on changing my now extra bedroom into a guest bedroom.

As I mentioned in some previous posts, I have been hit hard by spring fever and I've been having a great deal of fun planning out what I'm going to do to transform this room.

Here's the before shots:

Here's a close up of the bedding I currently have and the pendant lamp I got for a steal at Homesense for $28!!  I have a couple of paint chips that I'm considering but I'm going to wait until I have a fabric for the headboard in hand to finally commit.

Here's my inspiration board from OlioBoard.

I would like to use a slightly deeper shade of green for the wall and I hope to find some fabulous printed fabric to do the upholstered headboard, instead of the plain headboard shown here.  I think I'll be using stencils for the wall instead of wallpaper.  I'll let you know how that works out.....

Hope you have a great sunny weekend!
