IMTA alum Sofia Vassilieva's highly anticipated film, My Sister’s Keeper opens today nationwide! Sofia competed at IMTA in New York, where she won the title of Child Actress of the Year and she was the first runner-up for Child Model of the Year 2000! While competing Sofia garnered a lot of interest from the managers, agents and casting directors who were scouting at the Convention. If you are interested in IMTA, please click here! Sofia signed with a manager and went on to star in many films such as Eloise at the Plaza, The Brady Bunch in the White House, Inhabited, Hurt, and Day Zero. Sofia also won a Best Supporting Young Artist Award in 2006 for Best Performance in a TV Drama for her work on the television series Medium!

My Sister's Keeper is a very touching and dramatic story about how one daughter finds out she was born as genetic match to keep her cancer stricken older sister (played by Sofia) alive. The film is adapted from Jodi Piccoult's novel My Sister's Keeper. It is truly a heart-wrenching story which highlights how the moral and ethical decisions these parents made effected their two daughters. Cameron Diaz plays Sara Fitzgerald, Abigail Breslin plays Anna Fitzgerald, the younger sister and Sofia plays Kate Fitzgerald, the gravely ill sister.

Sofia's award-winning show Medium will change networks from NBC to CBS this Fall. This spooky drama will move to CBS' primetime lineup for Fridays when it changes networks and begins its sixth season. Sofia stars as Ariel Dubois, the daughter of the main character, Allison (Patricia Arquette). The show is an intriguing series based on a real-life story of a psychic who uses her abilities to solve crimes. Sofia was been nominated by the Charitable organization Stand Up To Cancer as one of their celebrity ambassadors for 2009! The ambassadors work together with a team to increase awareness and raise funds for cancer research.
