Seann William Scott in Cop Out!

Seann William Scott's (IMTA '95) newest comedy Cop Out is opening in theaters nationwide today! Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan play two longtime NYPD partners who are on the trail of a stolen, rare, mint-condition baseball card. They pull out all the stops to catch the memorabilia-obsessed gangster who stole the card, breaking every rule and enlisting the help of an annoying thief- Seann's “Doody Calls” Dave.

From the American Pie series to Dude, Where’s My Car, to The Dukes of Hazzard to Role Models, audiences continue to appreciate Seann as a bankable, comic leading man. After voicing characters in two of last year’s animated hits, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs and Planet 51, Seann returns to his comedic alter-ego to co-star in this hilarious new comedy!

Moschino, we heart fragrance!

Reasons to love Moschino?  One; sophisticated fashion, Two; gorgeous accessories, Three; fabulous fragrances.  I have become the lucky recipient of not one but five of the fabulous Moschino fragrances recently, and let me tell you they are delicious.

CHEAP AND CHIC MOSCHINO, L'EAU
A soft daytime floral perfume;
"This sparkling scent intertwines a floral bouquet of arum lily, May rose, and freesia, followed by a wave of fresh orange, gooseberry, and star anise. The whole is surrounded by sensuous endnotes of heliotrope, amber, and vetiver." (perfume.com)

CHEAP AND CHIC MOSCHINO, I Love Love
A romantic daytime floral perfume;
'The fragrance begins with top notes of citruses and red fruits. The heart introduces fresh flowers of lily of the valley, tea rose, and cinnamon leaves. The dry down is woody and musky with Tanaka wood, musk, and cedar. The bottle is a pop explosion of orange, sky-blue, and yellow print, inspired by the silhouette of Olive Oyl, Popeye’s girlfriend.' (perfume.com)

CHEAP AND CHIC By MOSCHINO
A fun daytime floral perfume;
 "It is a refreshing, flowery fragrance that blends delicate top notes of petit grain and bergamot with fruity undertones and low notes of white orchid, sandalwood, and vanilla. Popeye’s sweetheart, Olive Oyl, inspired both the scent and the bottle design." (perfume.com)

MOSCHINO By MOSCHINO
A sexy and exotic evening perfume;
'Flowers, plum and honeysuckle introduce the scent, which fades into a gardenia and rose heart spiced with nutmeg and pepper. Patchouli, sandalwood, musk and vanilla bring sensuality and raw appeal in the base of the fragrance. Sensual blends of oriental resins, opulent flowers, sweet vanilla and musks are introduced by refreshing citrus, green or fruity top notes.' (perfume.com)

OH! DE MOSCHINO
A soft daytime floral perfume;
Lily of the valley and pink waterlily are accented by fresh tangerine, warm rosewood, and soft water flowers like the water iris, pink lotus and peony, and this soft blend is brought depth and warmth from a base of sandalwood and musks

Ashton Kutcher Speaks at Russian Technology Event!

The Russian Technology Development conference is currently taking place in Moscow, where Ashton Kutcher is a featured speaker about the powerful use of social networking. With over 4.5 million twitter followers himself, Ashton discussed the importance and influence of twitter and other social networking sites. During a seminar, Ashton told the audience "... the power of the social web, which is to say you don't have to be a celebrity or sit on a podium to have a community that you can build, run an idea, a thought, a piece of leadership." Ashton also said, “Technology’s really the platform where the borders and languages and governments have all come down. When you’re online you don’t care that somebody’s from here or there or whatever it is if you share interests and desires you connect with people.” Ashton was recruited by America's State Department to join the delegation headed to Russia to strengthen the global web and ties to the U.S.

Ashton Kutcher competed at IMTA in 1997 where he won the coveted title of Most Sought After Male Model! He signed with Next Models and went straight to the runways for New York's Fashion week! He then was cast in an upcoming Fox comedy called Teenage Wasteland, the title was later changed to That 70's Show and Ashton was cast as the lovable Kelso! Amy Acker on Happy Town!

IMTA alum Amy Acker is starring in a new ABC drama called Happy Town! The show takes place in a small town where many unsolved kidnappings have taken place. After five years of no kidnappings, new crimes start to happen. Amy plays Rachel Conroy in this creepy new show.

Amy recently did an interview with MyTV where she shared this: "

"You’ve got a new series for ABC [Happy Town] coming down the pike, how’s that shaping up and how does it compare to what you’ve done before? I think its gonna be really exciting. It has a lot of the same qualities as 'Dollhouse' and 'Alias'; a lot of interesting characters. Everybody changes a lot throughout the story. It’s set in a small town. I think its gonna be really good. Everybody keeps saying “There’s really nothing like this”, those are the fun shows to be on. It’s a real mystery, you don’t really know if there’s going to become a magical element or what. [Happy Town, which shoots in Ontario, premieres on ABC in April]. "

Amy competed at IMTA in the nineties and industry great Patrick Baca was integral in scouting and launching Amy at IMTA. Amy has guest-starred on Ghost Whisperer, How I Met Your Mother, October Road and Law & Order: Criminal Intent and Dollhouse She appeared as Kelly Peyton, the assassin, on the series Alias.

Be sure to tune in to see Amy on Happy Town in April!

Art Gallery Walls

I love art gallery walls -here's some inspirational photos and I've followed that up with my recently completed art gallery wall and some tips for making your own.

You can do it symmetrically....

or assymmetrically.....

Samatha Pinn did this one for a client. It has a sharp pop of colour that ties in with the throw pillow and side table.

A more subdued approach.

This display has a bit of everything - black & white photograpy, colour photography and modern art.

This is a more casual way to display your art and it would be easy to move it around and change it as desired.

Interesting display for a kitchen nook.

I love this idea for displaying Grandma's old china that may be too delicate or damaged to use.

This one is over the top it is Andrew Pike's hallway. I would hate to have to dust all those frames...
This display helps to break up the dark walls and is very symmetrical and traditional.

Since I love taking photos especially while on vacation I did my own gallery wall with vacation shots and here is how mine turned out!

As you can see I used all dark frames with either black or white matting and all black & white photography. I like that the wooden angel wings break up the frames and keep it interesting.
Here some tips for doing up your own gallery wall.
1. Arrange the pieces you want to use on the floor in front of the wall where you would like to hang them. I like to start with the largest one somewhat in the middle and then place the smaller pieces around it.
2. Try to keep the spacing between each frame consistent as this makes it look more professional.
3. You don’t have to use the same kind of frame but some consistency of frame or matte colour helps to keep the group unified. Some consistency of subject matter helps as well – either all black & white, sepia tones or colour. Adding some different shaped frames or other items adds some interest to the display.
4. Move them around until you are pleased with the results.
5. Once you are satisfied, cut out kraft paper or newspaper the same size as the frames and use painters tape to adhere them to the wall. Measure the distance from the top and sides of the frame to the hook and mark this measurement on the paper.
6.Hammer in your hook, nail, etc… and repeat for all the frames.

I believe that every space can be comfortable, warm, elegant and beautiful. I would love to help you achieve your beautiful space – email me at lisa@lisagouletdesign.com or if in the Ottawa area call me at 613-762-0818.

Reupholstering my old chair

Since everyone is trying to renew, reuse and renovate - here's my contribution! This chair was left in the cottage we purchased a few years ago and I resisted my husband's suggestion to throw it out. I loved the lines of it and figured I could somehow renew it. I found out from an antiques expert that the chair is from the 1920's, the upholstery was sitting on top of the chair and the filling was straw!

Here's the before photo

Well - skip ahead to many years later and I finally got it finished. I spent a good deal of time searching for the "perfect" fabric and finally found it at Rockland Textiles. I then painted the frame black and had it professionally reupholstered. I love it and my husband can't believe it is the same chair. So now it has a new life in my family room!
