Not as big a hassle as yours but I ordered a TV off pixmania (UK) and it came with a Euro plug. Phoned to complain and they sent me an adapter.
Not a big deal but I was a bit miffed that they didnt advertise it as Eur plug. I'm a bit paranoid about having it plugged to an adapter all the time (not sure why!)

I was once going to buy a camera from there because it was so cheap. Thankfully, the 'If it's too good to be true ..." adage sprang to mind didn't go through with it.

I considering heading to covent garden, but for me depends on whether we get pre-orders for delivery on Friday. If not then the weather. If its raining, I'll just go to my local store I think. Its inside a shopping center, so wont get wet. :)

do u notice the difference of 2gb of ram in your day to day activites, such as powering on, or running multible programs at once? or is the 2gb not even utilized until you edit videos n stuff? and it has to feel a little silly in a lecture when u have a huge screen in front of you.

I am having to write a program that determines whether a number is a palindrome or not using Python Programming. The program uses an input function for the number and then returns the results. All the research I have done has turned out results with Java and other non Python programs. Any help is appreciated. Thank you:)

You don't have to use the stylus, I've taken to just using my fingers with games like Pokemon that don't require precise input (barring the minigames). The touchscreen is used pretty well (or not at all) in the DS games I play. It's usually just used as an alternative to the dpad or they display action shortcuts on it.
Yea we're kinda spoiled on both the DS and PSP with RPGs. My PSP library is mostly just RPGs and the DS has some absolute gems. With a DS/DS Lite you can play GBA games too where there are even more RPG gems.

Apple replaced my original with this one in Mid-april.

I use my 13" mbp for everything.
I have a custom docking station setup at home (23" monitor, keyboard/mouse/speakers) and several I can use at work (as a research assistant).
If I did do multiple computers I would *have* to use something like dropbox to sync files. I think it is easier now than ever to do multiple computers, but I have so many custom settings and know where things are, etc, that it would be difficult to justify having two machines.
I could see myself getting an iMac to play with, realizing I don't need it, and returning it (or my mbp, probably the iMac). if I had a more permanent office I would probably want a desktop computer to use there however.
Also, while the 13" screen size is not the best, I've found that for 90%+ of the things I do it is sufficient. Actually the only thing which bothers me about it is google calendar, I have to do full screen to get a full days schedule to be nicely viewable because of how gcal resizes its frames.

Premiere will use the other cores, but for me i'd rather 4/6 cores with a higher clock speed and the matrox compressHD card, than a more expensive 8/12 core machine, with lower clock speed and no budget left for the compress card.
I understand. I'm honestly thinking of purchasing an iMac (after the refresh). I'll add the maximum amount of Ram (or atleast 16GB) and get the best processor from the Apple Website. I am sure they have more than what is here but they keep recounting. Maybe they are trying to make us paranoid. As long as they have 1 I will be happy. They stated they have now counted them all but they won't tell us the number. They just said everyone in line now will have one but again they won't tell us how many.

Even before I ordered my mac I knew I would need extension cables for the ACD because I read posts on how short the monitor's cables were and also saw it in the local Apple store. I contacted Dr. Bott to confirm their mDP cable supported audio passthrough.
FWIW: I bought my Dr. Bott cables from here:

I got it from Mac-Pro because (a) they were hard to get at the time (even Dr. Bott itself didn't have any, which apparently is the case even now -- just checked the 2m on their site (http://www.drbott.net/product/9378-MDEB/)) and (b) I found a bunch at Mac-Pro which is fairly close to where I live. Heh, the price there now looks a buck or two cheaper then I paid at the time!
Editorial: Many of the ads for these kind of cables are, IMO, incomplete since they also come with USB. So when they advertise the cable supports audio (generally they say "Audio and video passthrough" if they say anything at all) you can't tell for sure if the mDP supports audio in addition to the USB which of course supports audio. So what I do when faced with ambiguities is contact the manufacturers directly.
At least Monoprice, my preferred (first choice) place for ordering cables, is honest to say up front that their mDP cables don't support audio. They're a great place to order cables if the cables fulfill you needs.

I also got a 27acd .. nice monitor .. kinda miss the 30acd i used to have but decided to get the 27 instead. I have no idea why apple makes these cables so damn short. I might pick up a second monitor so i guess i will need two sets.

thanks so much for the replies. i gave the ps3mediaserver app a try and the results were better than i expected. i was worried that on the fly transcoding would degrade video to webcam quality or something! hopefully between that and the wd nas, i'll have a decent set of options for downloaded content.
and fingers crossed that either a more competent browser or a better canadian netflix selection will show up on the horizon someday.

I got the Roll-O-Notes, and I love it! Small enough for me, fits the 12" perfect, and has lots of other compartments for cables, ipod, BT mouse, etc. Although if you wanted to fit some textbooks or something in there, you'd have a hard time.

Not sure the sarcastic comments and put downs were required, I thought I made it quite clear I didn't know what I was doing, hence asking for advice. To reiterate my question and perhaps make it more clear - I was hoping someone might know of a online resource or book which would give guidance on what type of font works well in certain circumstances. Such a thing might not exist as it's such a broad area and very specific to each illustration or logo, but in the interests of self improvement I thought I would ask.

Is there any way I can change from discrete to the integrated graphics on Windows 7? I know how to do this on OS X but can't figure this out on Windows, if there is a way. Upon startup, I am not able to go into the bios because of bootcamp. Is there any other way to do this?
