Publicity really boosts these auctions. They're easy to miss if you're not paying attention the week the auction is on.
If you hadn't mentioned it maybe nobody would have noticed and you could have got it for the $100 reserve as the only bidder!

Thanks for the review. I am really excited about this product and will be getting one when i get an iPod Photo for sure. I have a question that I have not heard anywhere. Does the Camera Connector support USB 2 with cameras that support it, or is it strictly USB 1.1? If it did USB 2 that would be awesome. I will probably buy it either way, but just curious.

Possible but it would seem odd that apple would update the Mac Pro line twice within 2 weeks. I say this because I would expect the Mac Pro to be the first system to get Blu-Ray. Customers who bought the updated Mac Pros since CES would have an even greater reason to feel shafted than the iPhone people did with the price drop.

Thank you so much! I've been searching everywhere and wasn't able to find a concrete answer. That just makes AppleCare even more of a no-brainer!
I'm in the same boat - the nearest Apple Store is over an hour away. Luckily we have two stores near here - Mactown and MacDepot. You don't even have to call Apple first - you can just take it in. A friend of mine near here had her power adapter fry her Macsafe board inside her Macbook. Took it to Mactown, and the next day the board and the adapter were both replaced no charge. Saw the repair invoice that they were billing Apple for and it was over $600. Definitely paid off. :D

When it comes right down to it there are many ways to look at this dispute:
Apple pioneered the "i"XXXX nomenclature, and therefore it seems a little cheesy and cheap for any other company to release products with this format (imho). It's a little bit like Adidas releasing shoes with nike's "Air" name tacked on...
On the other hand, Cisco did patent the name and release a product with the name - I'm sure apple could've come up with another cool sounding name for the product (one that hasn't been tossed around rumor sites for years).
At the end of the day, it's really just a corporate debacle, one that has virtually no import to the consumer end, since the cellphone device that Apple has announced will almost certainly be released anyhow (perhaps not as the iPhone in all countries).
Cisco (seemingly) played by the rules, but at the same time their decision to utilize an apple standard naming format is bigtime unoriginal and deserves to be doomed to the depths of whatever hell exists for such corporate donkeys.

As the title suggests, can you confirm if this is a dead pixel (just above the cursor). Never had one before, so just wanted to confirm. I've used a pixel tester and it stays black whatever background colour is used.
What's the likelihood apple will replace my machine? (11" ultimate). I've taken as good a care as is possible with it. (speck see thru case, moshi palm guard, la.robe for transport, coolbook)

I don't trust how stable this Newton will be. I was searching for NEwtons on eBay when I found it. Just thought that I would help the guy out/ get more info by making a thread about it.

Good stuff! Thank you! Just did a successful upgrade to 4.3.2 without any issues. I had forgotten that I had to hold the Option key while clicking on Restore. (this is on the Mac; Windows works the same way but it's a different key obviously)

Yes it adds wear and tear, but not in any amount that would make any real difference to you. I wouldn't worry about it.
also, when you erase and re-install your OS does it take from the amount of GIG space, versus just leaving it alone and deleteing all the files manually?
The space will be equal, no matter which one you do. But why do it the hard way (manually erasing all the files) when you can just erase the hard drive?
